Travel Schmavel…

The popular Christmas carol “I’ll be home for Christmas” pipes through the radio, and my first thought was “Man…so much work.”

I’ve got 2 little kids. Travel, of any type, is a chore. Worth it, sure, but a chore…

This year, the country is on track to bust travel records with millions of people getting on the road and taking to the skies to visit family and friends for Christmas (or take a long needed vacation). Business insiders are predicting it could be a chaotic and messy few days leading up to December 25th.

Christmas Cards

I finally sat down and addressed our Christmas cards (only 9 days left til Christmas day, so, I’m still sort of ahead of the curve) and it got me thinking about the history of Christmas cards. When did sending photos of our families become the norm? Well, apparently it’s an old tradition that harkens back to European royalty. Learn more here.

The O Antiphons

Tomorrow begins the 8 final days leading up to Christmas (and the beginning of that 12 day celebration) and the Church begins digging into the “O Antiphons” - these statements of praise and worship that give us a chance to reflect on the coming of Christ into the world. The USCCB has a great write up on what the O Antiphons are and how to pray with them as a family.
